"Si al franquear una montaña en la dirección de una estrella, el viajero se deja absorber demasiado por los problemas de la escalada, se arriesga a olvidar cual es la estrella que lo guía."

Today I decided it was finally time to get back into my work out schedule. I’m not going to buy a gym membership because they’re really expensive here (Not to mention the fact that it’s way too beautiful in Seville to run inside). I had a feeling that I would get some comments or strange looks while running. First of all… I was working out during siesta time when most Spaniards are sleeping or relaxing (it was the only free time I had!). Secondly, my sneakers, t-shirt, and soffee shorts practically screamed American.

At one point, I was running by a dog. Generally, the dogs here are sooo well behaved. Owners don’t use leashes. They don’t need to! The dogs just walk alongside their owner without barking or “misbehaving” at all. But today… when I ran by this one perrito… it freaked out and started barking and chasing after me. Very out of character for dogs here. I think it was confused. “Why is this girl running ?! And why is she running during siesta?!” The Spaniards crossing the street were very amused. I was too.

On another note, I just got back from coffee with two new Spanish friends. Miguel and Jaime. Sam, Jenna, and I met them at the intercambio party last week. They both work at Boeing here in Spain. Engineers. They were very nice and even paid for our drinks. We are going to meet with them again later this week. This time we only talked in Spanish, but next time we are going to talk in English so that they can practice as well.
