Today was a great day with the kids. As soon as we got to the school, we were bombarded by about 50 screaming children. I went to my sixth grade class again and helped the kids with their math.
After a little bit, it was time for the workshops so I went to music. The kids have a very limited supply of instruments: recorders, pianos, and guitars. The first song they played (What Child is This) was a bit chaotic... but after they played another song, I concluded that they must have recently learned the 1st song.
After the workshop I volunteered (not sure if foolishly or not yet) to teach them a new song next week from the U.S. That also means I have to buy a recorder... Not sure where I'm going to get that yet.
Today during recreo, I had coffee with the teachers. They were really nice, although I almost wish I could have spend the time with the kids.
Other highlights of the day include art class, where my drawing got posted on the wall... haha.
After lunch and 3 hours (tooo long) of Spanish lessons, we had a salsa and rumba lesson. I decided that I don't like rumba. The salsa lesson was also a group lesson and quite basic at that... so I will most definitely be taking private lessons. Tomorrow I'm going to a salsa party with Pablo (our country coordinator).
