Before I came here... when I was in the process of filling out a million forms in preparation... the one that scared me the most was the housing form. On it we had to describe what kind of experience we were looking for, three things that would be most important to us in our housing experience, and whether we wanted to live with a family in the residencias (like dorms), with a young couple, or with a señora (older single woman). Without really having any idea about which I should choose, I selected "señora."

I made the best decision. I got placed with a 74 year old woman named Ana. She's nothing short of amazing. She prepares the best meals, she does my laundry, and when I can't make it home for lunch... I get the best bocadillos! I knew I was going to like her when she brought out a plate piled high with stawberries with a mountain of whip cream on top (and when I say a mountain... I mean it). She is my Spanish grandmother.

It absolutely made my day when I found out she's going to high school right now... so cute. And she's a tough cookie too... When the chocolatería gave us too many churros... she showed them what's up... Don't mess with Ana.
